In the early evening of February 26, 2023, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of the Sinclair Gate apartment complex in Northeast Baltimore. When the chaos subsided, 21-year-old Mason Kelly, a Black male, was found unresponsive in the second-floor vestibule of a building on the 5500 block of Bowley's Lane. He had been fatally shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other young men, aged 18 and 19, were also wounded in the triple shooting but survived.
