In the early evening of January 4, 2023, the quiet of a Hyattsville, Maryland apartment complex was disturbed by a grim discovery. In the parking lot of the complex, located on the 2600 block of Kirkwood Place, a man was found unresponsive. Authorities were called to the scene for a welfare check at approximately 5:50 p.m. and upon arrival, they found 39-year-old Melvin Mayorga Hernandez. Tragically, Mr. Hernandez was pronounced deceased at the location.
