In the early morning hours in Atlanta, a 26-year-old man named Anthony Freeman was fatally shot in what police described as an armed robbery. The incident occurred in a small lot in the 500 block of Whitehall Street. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Freeman had moved to Atlanta about three years prior and had been temporarily laid off from a moving company. He had been looking forward to returning home for Christmas.
