Christopher Patterson, 18, a Black male from Savannah, Georgia, died on May 4, 2016, after an early-morning shooting on Iowa Street near Long Avenue. Police said officers were called just before 1:00 a.m. and found him wounded by gunfire. He was taken to Memorial University Medical Center, but he did not survive. Investigators said Patterson had been walking on Iowa Street when the shots were fired, and from the beginning they did not believe the attack was random.
