In the late hours of an autumn evening in Atlanta, Georgia, a violent encounter abruptly ended the life of Phillip Carter, a 58-year-old male. On the night of October 10, 2015, Carter and another man were on Perkerson Road, in the vicinity of Metropolitan Parkway and Cleveland Avenue, when they were targeted in a robbery. The assailants, not content with just theft, opened fire on both men. Carter sustained fatal injuries during the attack and died, while the other man was wounded but survived.
