On March 23, 2023, at approximately 5:04 PM, Suffolk Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 300 block of S. Division Street. Upon arrival, officers found 24-year-old Qurante "TaeBudd" De'Zhan Budd seated in a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel treated Budd at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
