On the evening of August 31, 2023, Neal Harris, a 55-year-old resident of Kansas City, Missouri, was fatally shot following a dispute. The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) responded to reports of multiple individuals fighting near the 1800 block of East 67th Street around 8:45 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Harris unresponsive in the street, suffering from a single gunshot wound.
