In the early morning hours of January 21, 2024, a burst of gunfire on White Plains Road in the Wakefield section of the Bronx resulted in the death of 23-year-old Dashawn Hibbert. The male victim, a resident of Calhoun Avenue, was discovered by police responding to a 911 call at approximately 6:08 a.m. Hibbert had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the torso and was transported by emergency services to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead.
