On May 3, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Pittsburgh police responded to multiple ShotSpotter alerts indicating nine rounds fired near the intersection of Bedford Avenue and Watt Lane in the Bedford Dwellings neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 35-year-old Anthony Young lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
