Lamar Alston, a 43-year-old Black male from Philadelphia, was shot on the night of Saturday, July 15, 2023, in North Philadelphia. Police were called to the 3000 block of Page Street at about 10:06 p.m., where they found him lying in the street near 30th and Page Streets after he had been struck by gunfire. The scene was urgent enough that responding officers did not wait for an ambulance; they placed Alston into a patrol vehicle and rushed him to Temple University Hospital themselves.
