On the morning of August 11, 2024, 58-year-old Saúl Guadalupe Santos was fatally shot during an attempted carjacking in Salinas, California. The incident occurred around 7:10 a.m. near the 2200 block of North Main Street, where Santos was found lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being transported to a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
