On July 24, 2024, 47-year-old Thomas Dedmon was fatally shot in a public park located in the 38200 block of 10th Street East in Palmdale, California. Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of a gunshot victim around midnight. Upon arrival, they found Dedmon with a gunshot wound to his back. Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel pronounced him dead at the scene shortly after midnight on July 25, 2024.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner later identified the victim as Dedmon and classified his death as a homicide due to the gunshot wound.
As of now, there have been no reports of arrests or identification of suspects related to Dedmon's death. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate the case and has urged anyone with information to contact their Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
