On May 11, 2024, 19-year-old Alexander Espino of Bloomington, California, was fatally shot while driving eastbound on the 10 Freeway in Covina. The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. near the Via Verde Street exit. Espino was operating a white Chevrolet Camaro with his cousin as a passenger when a motorcyclist, described as wearing black clothing and a black helmet, approached their vehicle.
