On July 25, 2023, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Fresno Police Department officers responded to an 11-round ShotSpotter alert in the 4200 block of East Grant Avenue in Fresno, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 34-year-old Robert Garza suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations indicated that Garza had been involved in a disturbance with another individual prior to the shooting.
However, authorities were unable to establish a clear motive at that time. The Fresno Police Department urged anyone with information to contact Homicide Detective Justin Baroni at 559-621-2516.
As of December 26, 2024, there have been no publicly reported arrests or identification of suspects in connection with Robert Garza's death. The case remains unsolved, and law enforcement continues to seek leads from the community to aid in their investigation.
