On the evening of March 29, 2023, at approximately 9:16 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 13900 block of Rosecrans Avenue, east of Marquardt Avenue, in La Mirada, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Nestor Tlahuel Méndez, a resident of Santa Fe Springs, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Tragically, Méndez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Coroner's office later confirmed Méndez's identity and determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the torso, classifying the manner of death as homicide.
In the aftermath of the incident, authorities launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the individual or individuals responsible for Méndez's death. Despite these efforts, no arrests have been reported, and information regarding potential suspects remains undisclosed.
