On May 3, 2024, Dominique Anderson, a 33-year-old father of two from Pearland, Texas, was fatally shot while driving eastbound on Shadow Creek Parkway near State Highway 288. Surveillance footage revealed that Anderson's vehicle was alongside a gold Cadillac sedan when both cars stopped under the highway. A witness reported observing the driver of the Cadillac extend his arm out of the window and fire a single shot into the passenger side of Anderson's car.
After being struck, Anderson's vehicle continued for approximately a quarter mile before colliding with a pole and a tree. Responding officers extracted him from the car, and he was transported to Ben Taub Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, though investigators have not dismissed the possibility of road rage. Pearland Police Department's Officer Chad Rogers noted that such violent crimes are uncommon in the city, emphasizing the rarity of this incident. In the past five years, Pearland has recorded nine murders, with only one homicide reported in each of the last two years.
Dominique Anderson's family has been vocal in their plea for information leading to the apprehension of the suspect. His widow, Christina Anderson, expressed profound grief, stating, "It's so hard to know my husband... I can't speak to him anymore." Their ten-year-old son, Aaron, reminisced about his father's energetic spirit and their shared activities. The family urges anyone with information to come forward, hoping for justice and closure.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the suspect remains unidentified. Authorities have released limited details about the suspect or the gold Cadillac involved. The Pearland Police Department continues to investigate and has appealed to the public for assistance. Individuals with information are encouraged to contact Brazoria County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-460-2222.
