On August 19, 2023, 18-year-old Jesslyn "JJ" Jolie Draper of Porter, Texas, tragically lost her life in a shooting incident in the 6000 block of FM 1725 in the Cleveland area of San Jacinto County. Responding to reports of a shooting around 6:35 p.m., authorities found Jesslyn deceased in the yard from a gunshot wound. Nearby, 25-year-old Dylan Morse of Cleveland was discovered in critical condition with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, indicating an attempted murder-suicide.
