On July 13, 2023, in Mission, Texas, 87-year-old Johanna Mae "Jo" Gould was found deceased in her home from a gunshot wound to the head. Her husband, 88-year-old William Gould, was discovered with self-inflicted gunshot wounds to the chest and under the chin. He was transported to a McAllen medical facility, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
