On December 1, 2024, Octavious Jackson, a 44-year-old former Florida State University (FSU) defensive tackle and member of the 1999 national championship team, was fatally shot in Hollywood, Florida. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. outside Jaycee Hall, a local event venue. Jackson was reportedly attempting to break up a fight when he was shot.
