In the winter of 2024, a shooting in Baton Rouge led to the death of 48-year-old Derek Lee. The incident took place on the evening of Saturday, December 21st, in the 1100 block of North 36th Street. Responding to the call, Baton Rouge Police found Lee with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
