On the cold night of December 1, 2017, Natlino Gomes, a 31-year-old Black / African American man, was nearing the end of his shift at Peguero's Market on Bowdoin Street in Dorchester, Boston. At approximately 11:45 PM, as he was closing the convenience store where he worked, his life was cut short by gunfire. Pronounced dead at the scene, Gomes became another victim of the city's ongoing violence.
