In the Shawnee neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, 74-year-old Herbert Daniels, a Black male, was a cherished figure, known affectionately as 'Mr. Herb.'. His life was tragically cut short on the evening of Thursday, January 21, 2021, when a shootout erupted between two groups in the 600 block of South 41st Street, near River Park Drive.
Just before 9 p.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the night. Inside his home, Mr. Daniels was drawn to his front door out of concern for the commotion.
