In a Lakewood, Washington apartment on June 6, 2015, a heated argument between 26-year-old Mindy Hughes and her boyfriend, Carlos Eduardo Perez Calderon, turned fatal. The dispute reportedly began when Hughes insisted that Calderon, who was 29 at the time, go to a food bank because she, not being a resident, was ineligible to receive assistance.
