On the evening of September 17, 2021, a domestic dispute in Vicksburg, Mississippi, ended in the tragic death of 33-year-old Jamal Stowers, a Black male. Vicksburg Police officers were called to the 100 block of Sprout Springs Road at approximately 7:44 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Stowers near the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
