A Quiet Town, A Lingering Mystery
Willits, California, a small city nestled in the heart of Mendocino County, is known for its redwood forests, rustic charm, and tight-knit community. But on August 11, 2014, this peaceful town became the starting point of a mystery that remains unsolved to this day. James Daniel Horn, affectionately known as “Bear,” vanished without a trace, leaving behind a trail of questions and a community searching for answers.
Who Was James “Bear” Horn?
James Horn was a 31-year-old Native American man, standing 5'7" tall and weighing approximately 195 pounds at the time of his disappearance. He was known for his distinctive tattoos, including a bear paw with a feather on the right side of his face, a tribal warrior bird on his neck, a dream catcher on the back of his head, the letters "NCN" and a Native American chief on his abdomen, and the words "Mendocino Outlaw" on his biceps. His head was shaved, and he had brown hair and brown eyes. James was a familiar face in Willits, often seen traveling on foot or hitchhiking, a testament to his free-spirited nature . on Vanished at Sea: The Mysterious Disappearance of Cameron Booth Off Chincoteague's Coast
He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was. And they're all so equally sick they live in comfort that the victims don't want to retraumatize themselves over everything he put them through. Dont support this families sick parade of using a monster to get sympathy. He was never ashamed of who he was. He loudly boasted his crimes and justified them. The family shouldn't sit there and pretend, how far from reality are they to sit and post this man publicly on news outlets, websites, knowing who he is. Do they need attention that badly? They don't want the attention from the truth. The victims will never get justice. Do not pray for him o
