On a spring morning in Virginia, 41-year-old Elizabeth Ann Thomas was at her residence in the 5200 block of Airport Square Lane in the Henrico area. On May 4, 2007, she had a telephone conversation with an acquaintance at approximately 8:00 a.m. This would be the last time anyone is known to have had contact with her. When the acquaintance went to her home later that same evening, Elizabeth was gone. The scene inside the residence was unsettling, as all of her personal belongings had been left behind. Adding to the concern was the fact that a disability check she was due to receive had not been collected. Elizabeth Ann Thomas is described as a white female with green eyes and long brown hair that reached the middle of her back. She stood 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighed around 150 pounds. Her appearance was distinguished by several unique tattoos, including a unicorn on her right arm, the character "Taz" on her left chest, the name "Liz" on her right hand, and the name "Shelly" on one of her upper arms. She also had a tattoo of flowers and a word on her right upper thigh. Both her ears and her right nostril were pierced. At the time she went missing, Elizabeth was dealing with health challenges; she had stents in her legs to treat peripheral artery disease and was classified as disabled. She also had a history of drug abuse and was known to associate with drug dealers in the Richmond area. The Henrico County Police Division opened an investigation into her disappearance, which was officially reported about a month later on June 5, 2007. Despite the passage of time, her case has remained open and is periodically reviewed by detectives, but progress has been limited and no concrete leads have emerged to explain what happened to her. The circumstances of her disappearance are considered troubling, given that she vanished without a trace, leaving behind all her possessions and necessary funds. The investigation into what happened to Elizabeth Ann Thomas continues, a quiet and unsolved case still hoping for answers.
