In the autumn of 2017, a young man named Andrew Erik Wilhelm Jutte, aged 20, disappeared from British Columbia, leaving his family and friends deeply concerned. Having recently relocated from Ontario to British Columbia, Andrew was at a transitional phase in his life. Accounts of his last known whereabouts in September 2017 vary, with some reports stating he was last seen around September 20 in the downtown core of Vancouver, and another citing September 8 on the North Shore. Other sources, including the Vancouver Police, report he was last seen on September 27, 2017, near East 15th Avenue and Main Street in Vancouver. Andrew is described as a Caucasian male, standing 5'5" tall with a slim build. There are differing descriptions of his features, with some reports noting black or brown hair and green eyes, while the Vancouver Police Department's cold case unit describes him as having blonde or light brown hair, possibly a beard, and blue/grey eyes. The investigation into Andrew's disappearance was complicated by his known habit of being out of touch with friends and family for extended periods. While he was last seen in September, he was not officially reported missing to the Vancouver Police Department until December 29, 2017. It was also noted that he had been reported missing once before in August of the same year. Both the North Vancouver RCMP and the Vancouver Police issued public pleas for assistance in locating him, expressing that his family was concerned for his well-being. Investigators pursued available leads, but by April 2018, they had exhausted their avenues and made a public appeal for Andrew himself to make contact with them. The search for Andrew Jutte has since become a cold case, his file remaining open with the Vancouver Police Department's Missing Persons Unit. At the time he went missing, he was an aspiring actor, a detail that adds another layer to the narrative of a young person who had moved across the country with dreams for his future. The conflicting details regarding the specific date and location he was last seen, as well as variations in his physical description, present ongoing challenges. The overview of the case is one of a young man, new to the province, who vanished under ambiguous circumstances. Despite the passage of time, law enforcement and his loved ones continue to seek answers regarding his whereabouts and what happened to him in September of 2017.
