In the late summer of 1996, a young man named Benoit Lachance, 25 years old at the time, vanished from his home in Pointe-aux-Trembles, a district in Montreal, Quebec. There are conflicting dates regarding his last known whereabouts; some sources indicate he was last seen on August 25, 1996, while others state September 3, 1996. On the day he disappeared, he was seen leaving his residence on his motorcycle, possibly heading towards Le Gardeur. It wasn't until several weeks later, on September 26, 1996, that his family officially reported him as a missing person, deepening the mystery surrounding his sudden absence. Benoit was described as a Caucasian male, standing at approximately 5'11" and weighing around 185 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
