When he did not return as expected, he was reported missing, sparking an immediate and widespread search effort. The initial response to Mr. Snedden's disappearance was robust, involving RCMP, helicopters, ground search and rescue teams, provincial officers on ATVs, and civilian aircraft. Searchers covered hundreds of kilometers of woods in the area. Early in the search, his truck was discovered unattended on Duck Lake Road, but there was no sign of Mr. Snedden or his ATV. Despite the extensive three-day effort, no clues to his whereabouts emerged, and with no sightings, the difficult decision was made to suspend the official ground search on October 31, 2022. However, the investigation remained active as authorities and his family held out hope, asking fellow hunters and the public to remain vigilant. A significant development came on November 5, 2022, when his ATV was located in a marshy area in Dumfries Parish, a considerable distance north of McAdam. An RCMP helicopter also surveyed the area, but the intensive search did not lead to finding Mr. Snedden. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear, leaving his family and community without answers.
