In the fall of 2016, a 25-year-old female named Amery Bohland vanished, with her last known whereabouts being in Spokane, Washington. The last time her family in the Philippines had any contact with her was via a phone call sometime in October of that year. At the time of her disappearance, Amery was described as being of Asian descent, standing between 4'10" and 5'0" tall, and weighing between 85 and 95 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes, and a distinctive large mole on the right side of her nose. The circumstances leading up to Amery's disappearance are based on information provided by her family, which authorities have not been able to corroborate. According to her family, Amery met an American man in his late 50s named John Bohland in Manila, Philippines, around the middle of 2014 while she was there for school. She later informed her family that she had traveled to Washington State and married him in Spokane in February 2015. At some point, Amery told her family that her husband had passed away. Her mother reported that Amery had passed the CPA Exam in June 2016 and had been attending an unknown school in the Seattle area, traveling to Spokane during her breaks. Just before she went missing, in September 2016, Amery had reportedly started a new job at an unknown company in Seattle. During her last phone call with her mother in October 2016, she mentioned that she would be able to send money home to her family after receiving her first paycheck. The investigation into Amery Bohland's disappearance has been fraught with challenges, as law enforcement has been unable to verify the information provided by her family. There appears to be no official record of a marriage between Amery and a John Bohland in Washington State, nor any records of a man by that name residing in the Spokane area. Furthermore, details about her supposed schooling in Seattle and her employment have not been substantiated. Amery had a minimal online presence, with a Facebook profile created shortly before she disappeared that has been inactive since September 2016. This lack of a digital footprint, combined with the unverified details of her life in the United States, has created a mysterious and troubling case, leaving her family with unanswered questions about her well-being and whereabouts.
