Daniel John Novcaski, 27, was last seen on September 9, 1989, in the vicinity of St. Lazaria Island near Sitka, Alaska. Novcaski, along with a companion, Daniel Jones, failed to return from a fishing trip as expected, prompting one of their wives to report them missing. The two men were believed to have been using Novcaski's 17-foot fiberglass vessel after leaving Jones' smaller 13-foot Boston Whaler anchored offshore.
