Cody Brian Lynn, 22, was found with gunshot wounds inside a North Locust Street residence in Hagerstown, Maryland, on the evening of Monday, November 12, 2018. Officers arrived at 8:46 p.m.; Lynn was taken to Meritus Medical Center but died of his injuries. The case was classified as a homicide.

A K9 unit searched the surrounding area shortly after the shooting. Within a week, three people were arrested: 31-year-old Dewayne Dawkins and 50-year-old Angelique Booker were taken into custody by Frederick County detectives at an Econo Lodge in Frederick, and 27-year-old Rahim Gibson was arrested in Hagerstown. All three were booked into the Washington County Detention Center and charged in connection with Lynn’s death. Dawkins and Booker faced counts including first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment; Booker also faced a handgun-in-a-vehicle charge. Gibson faced similar murder and assault charges plus conspiracy to commit murder and additional firearm counts. All were held without bond.
