I find myself thinking a lot about the location where Willie was killed. That afternoon must have been terrifying, especially for the kids who were just playing nearby. It’s incredibly unsettling to think that life can change so drastically in just a matter of seconds. To those families and children who witnessed this—my heart goes out to you. No one should have to see such violence, especially not at such a young age. I really hope the community can come together to heal and help the detectives find who is responsible for such a senseless act. Does anyone from the area feel like safety has changed since the incident?
I've been following the case of Willie Lee Barnes, and I can't shake the feeling of how terrifying it must have been for the children playing nearby during the shooting. It’s awful to think that kids had to witness such violence in what should have been a safe space. It makes me wonder how this will impact them in the long run.
