In the early hours of a Thursday morning in Baltimore, the stillness of the night was broken by an act of violence that would end the life of Sami Ibn-Queen, a 59-year-old Black man. On May 26, 2022, at approximately 12:29 a.m., police were called to the unit block of North Catherine Street. There, they discovered Mr. Ibn-Queen inside a vehicle, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. The incident was quickly ruled a homicide.
