In the evening hours of January 10, 2022, a burst of gunfire shattered the night in the 900 block of North Caroline Street in Baltimore, Maryland. When the echo of the shots faded, 25-year-old Darrian Carr, a Black male, lay fatally wounded. Police and medics rushed to the scene around 8:05 p.m., alerted by a shot spotter system, but it was too late. Carr was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.
