On the evening of May 17, 2021, an 18-year-old Hispanic male named Cristopher Sanchez of Hyattsville, Maryland, was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the Langley Park neighborhood, specifically in the 8000 block of New Hampshire Avenue. Prince George's County police responded to reports of a shooting and found Sanchez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
