In the pre-dawn hours of January 30, 2021, the quiet of a Hagerstown, Maryland motel parking lot was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When Hagerstown Police officers responded to a call of a shooting at the Plaza Inn and Suites on Dual Highway at approximately 4:40 AM, they discovered the body of Roderick Rashan White. A 40-year-old Black man from Greensboro, North Carolina, White was found with an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
