On the evening of September 25, 2020, in Capitol Heights, Maryland, a dispute tragically escalated, resulting in the death of 31-year-old Tyuan Thornes of Upper Marlboro. At approximately 9:40 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the 6800 block of Central Avenue after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Thornes outside, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
