On the night of December 6, 2019, Oscar Alaniz-Gurdian, a 26-year-old male from Hyattsville, Maryland, was fatally shot in Landover. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Pinebrook Avenue. Officers from the Prince George's County Police and Maryland-National Capital Park Police responded to a report of a shooting and found Alaniz-Gurdian outside with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
