In the pre-dawn hours of September 18, 2019, the life of 34-year-old Donte Ridgeley Butler was tragically cut short on a street in Northwest Baltimore. A hail of bullets shattered the early morning quiet in the 3400 block of Piedmont Avenue, and when police responded to reports of gunfire around 1:45 a.m., they found Butler suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
