On a summer evening in Hyattsville, Maryland, the life of 26-year-old Yuri Echavarria Jr. was tragically cut short. On August 13, 2019, at approximately 9:50 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the 4200 block of Oglethorpe Street. They discovered Echavarria in the stairwell of an apartment building, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
