In the summer of 2017, the West Baltimore neighborhood of Harlem Park was struck by tragedy with the death of 15-year-old Jeffery Quick. The young man, a student at Furman L. Templeton Elementary and later Bluford Drew Jemison STEM Academy West, was fatally shot on August 22nd of that year.
