On a Wednesday night in December 2016, Deontay McKnight, a 21-year-old male, was at a gas station on York Road in Baltimore, simply pumping gas into his vehicle. It was around 11:30 p.m. when an individual approached him. An exchange of gunfire erupted between the two, shattering the late-night quiet. The suspect then fled the scene on foot, leaving McKnight with gunshot wounds to his torso. He was rushed to a local hospital, but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
