William Henry Torbit Jr., a 33-year-old police officer with the Baltimore City Police Department, tragically lost his life on January 9, 2011. Officer Torbit, who was in plainclothes, responded to a call about a large fight at a nightclub on North Paca Street around 1:15 a.m. Upon arrival, he attempted to break up a fight between several women but was subsequently attacked by a group of men.
