A late-night gathering on a porch in New Orleans turned deadly on July 2, 2010, resulting in the death of 22-year-old Black male Elmichael De'Jon White. That evening, White and another 22-year-old, Ryan Terrence, were on a porch in the 8800 block of Edinburgh Street when an unknown individual opened fire on them at approximately 11 p.m.
