Taveon Moore, an 18-year-old resident of Pittsburg, California, was tragically shot to death on the evening of February 1, 2017. The incident occurred just after 6 p.m. in the 2000 block of Leland Court, right outside his home. According to police reports, Moore was approached by two masked suspects who parked their vehicle nearby before opening fire. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the shooting. This incident marked the first homicide in Pittsburg for the year 2017.
