Luis Amela, a 41-year-old resident of Palmdale, California, tragically lost his life on March 31, 2015. The incident occurred outside Sky Burgers, a local restaurant located in the 1800 block of East Palmdale Boulevard. On that fateful evening, Amela was involved in an altercation with four individuals who were attempting to steal his bicycle. The confrontation escalated, resulting in Amela being shot multiple times.
Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.
The investigation into Amela's death quickly led to the arrest of two juveniles, a 17-year-old male and a 17-year-old female. These individuals were apprehended on April 8, 2015, at an Arco Gas Station in Palmdale. They were taken into custody on suspicion of being accessories to the murder, as they were believed to have either participated in the crime or assisted the shooter. Both suspects were booked at the Palmdale Sheriff's Station and subsequently appeared in Sylmar Juvenile Court.
Despite these arrests, the primary shooter remained at large, and the investigation continued.
