Dexter Jerome Barnett, a 42-year-old resident of Salinas, California, tragically lost his life on January 10, 2015. Barnett, originally from Foley, Alabama, was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend. His death was the result of a violent confrontation that escalated into a fatal shooting. On the night of his death, Barnett had an altercation with Angel Ramirez, a 25-year-old member of the Norteno gang, at the Chin Brothers Market on North Main Street in Salinas.
