Romel Velarde, a 16-year-old resident of National City, California, was tragically shot and killed on January 19, 2007. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in front of his home located in the 2300 block of East Division Street. According to reports, Velarde was standing in his driveway when he was approached by two unidentified males. Shortly after, gunshots were heard, and Velarde was found fatally wounded.
