Randall Lawrence "Randy" Moore, a 16-year-old from San Diego, California, tragically lost his life in 1976. Randy went missing in August of that year, and his body was discovered on October 10, 1976. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head. This heinous crime was part of a series of murders committed by Patrick Kearney, a notorious serial killer known as the "Trash Bag Killer." Kearney was responsible for the deaths of at least 21 young men and boys between 1962 and 1977.

Patrick Kearney's modus operandi involved luring young men, often hitchhikers, to his home, where he would then kill them and dispose of their bodies in trash bags. Kearney's reign of terror came to an end when he was apprehended and subsequently confessed to the murders. He was convicted and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Kearney is currently serving his sentence at California's Mule Creek State Prison.
